PMP® Exam Preparation Workshop:

The PMP® Exam Prep Workshop is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the Project Management Professional exam issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). This course is also designed to satisfy the 35 hours of project management education (PDU®) required by PMI® in order to qualify to take the exam. The PMP® is an internationally acclaimed professional credential which will open many doors for those who obtain it.

This 4-½ day multi-sensory learning experience prepares attendees to pass the PMP® Exam by helping them understand the following:

  • PMI® Specific Terminology – Learn how PMI® defines and approaches project management.

  • The Five Project Management Process Groups – Understand initiating, planning executing, monitoring and controlling and closing processes within project management.

  • The Nine Project Management Knowledge Areas – Learn about integration, scope, time, cost, resource, procurement, communications, quality and human resources management.

  • Inputs, tools, techniques and outputs – Understand how PMI® defines and relates each of these processes to each other.

  • Test preparation skills – Receive tips, tricks and help on how to apply, prepare for and take the PMP® Exam.

Participants learn PMI® specific project management skills from certified PMP® instructors and apply them to a simulated project that allows them to experience each process and knowledge area.

This course is based upon the Project Management Institute’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®). It has proven very beneficial in preparing students for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam.

Applied Hands-on Skills:

  • Learn the PMI® approach to Project Management
  • Understand the Five Process Groups
  • Develop skill in the Nine Knowledge Areas
  • Learn inputs, tools, techniques and outputs for Project Management Processes
  • Review critical test taking skills through practice exams and simulations

Receive instruction using accelerated learning techniques

Course Materials include:

  • PMBOK® guide
  • A course workbook which is over 400 pages and includes many study aids
  • Use of iPAD notebook for case study review and learning
  • Additional accelerated learning study aids.

Use of the multisensory iPad® notebook allows the workshop participants to hear the concept messages from different people and perspectives. This unique delivery introduces and reinforces learning key points. Additionally it helps to clarify confusing situational Project Management concepts.

Participants recieve 35 hours of PMI® credit towards their PMP® Exam requirements and a certificate of completion.

PMI®, PMP® and PMBOK® are registered trademarks of the Project Management Institute.

iPAD® Learning:

Our unique learning plan utilizes an iPAD® tablet as a personal learning device. A simulated case study runs parallel with the 4-½ day training workshop. With the use of the iPad® notebook simulation (Arthur Maxwell Inc. coded) participants find themselves engaged in similar project management situations to what they will find on the exam. Because participants actually experience the skills and knowledge covered in the PMBOK®, they leave with great tools, and techniques to improve the performance of their future projects

The iPad’s provide the best use of current technology providing quick, easy, intuitive, breakthrough accelerated learning

Using the Milestone Management Corporation's games and material, the Mastery Experience Workshop™ is targeted at preparing the participants for the Project Management Institute's PMP® exam.

In addition to the “Performant” Epply Engineering case study participants also practice the:

  • What Tool Game – Identifies the Project Management Process Group and Knowledge area map to understand what the next PMI tool to use would be.

  • What’s Next Game - Identifies the Project Management Process Group and Knowledge area map to understand what the next PMI process step would be.

These game tools direct you into a new mindset to understand the PMI® Project Management Knowledge area inputs, output, tools and techniques.

iPad® simulation helps participants interact in true-to-life situations using documents, tools and techniques described in the PMBOK® and thus increasing their retention of the concepts.

MMC Course Workbook and PMBOK Guide:

Each participant receives an 8 module PMP® Exam Preparation Course workbook. With over 400 pages of Project Management preparation course material, the participant is guided by expert facilitation through each PMI® Process Group and Knowledge Area.

The easy to understand translation of the PMBOK® allows you to clearly follow and understand each Project Management framework input, toolset, output and logical interdependent flow.

  • Module 1 – Contains learning on the Exam, Framework, and Standard Project Lifecycle & Integration.

  • Module 2 – Contains learning on PM Scope, and Time Management.

  • Module 3 – Contains learning on PM Cost, Quality and Human Resources Management.

  • Module 4 – Contains learning on PM Communication, Risk and Management Theories.

  • Module 5 – Contains learning on PM Procurement, Ethics and a Course Review.

  • Module 6 – Contains Practice Exams.

  • Module 7 – Contains additional PM study materials.

  • Module 8 – Contains PM exercises and study aids.

Additionally Knowledge Area matrixes are provided to clearly illustrate the Process, Inputs, Tools and Outputs. Manual copies of the “What Next” and “What Tool Should I Use” game are included.

Each participant receives a copy of the latest version of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).

MMC PMP Flash Cards:

Participants receive a deck of MMC Project Management PMP® exam preparation flashcards. A flashcard or flash card is a set of cards bearing information, as words or numbers, on either or both sides, used in study drills. Flashcards can bear Project Management PMP® vocabulary, historical dates, formulas or any subject matter that can be learned via a question and answer format.

Additionally, PM Flashcards are widely used as a learning drill to aid memorization by way of repetition in preparation for the PMP® exam.

Paper flashcards have been used since at least the 19th century for early literacy education. The MMC flashcards provide:

  • Memorizing – Cards help to reinforce the memorization of details and description of the PM Process Groups and Knowledge Areas.

  • Patterns – Allows the logical cognitive ordering of the elements of each PM Process.

  • Successor & Predecessor Logic – Cards allow the formulation of the successor and predecessor logic of the PM groups and area mapping.

  • Mnemonics – Two separate mnemonics are developed to understand the order for Process Groups and Knowledge Areas.

Flashcards exercise the mental process of active recall: given a prompt (the question), one produces the correct answer. Beyond the content of cards, there is the process of organizing them to create a cognitive mapping and ordered structure.

MeasureUp.com:

As part of the PMP® training package you get a 6 month subscription to use MeasureUp.com for PMI testing practice. This software allows you to conduct practice tests and assessments to test your knowledge in all 5 PMI® Process Groups.

The software allows multiple test taking options where you can determine how many questions you want in each test battery. The software contains a question bank of 620 questions that represents questions from each of the 9 PMI® Knowledge areas.

With multiple ways to present the answers and solutions to the questions you can determine if you want the answers shown immediately or at the end of the testing sequence.

These skill based questions are formulated to be similar to the type of questions in the PMI® PMP® exam and provide grading statistics to tell you which areas of the test you struggle with and which skill areas you have mastered.

There are multiple modes which the tests can be taken from:

  • Study Mode – Test taken in this mode are optimized to maximize your study time.

  • Certification Mode – Tests taken in this mode closely simulate the actual certification testing environment.

  • Adaptive Mode – The answers provided by the user determines the level of complexity of the next question.

It is recommended that you take a simulated official 200 question test sequence twice and pass it prior to taking your actual test at a PMI® Prometric Test Center.
